Objective & spearheads Kenya Youth Hockey Development

The statutory objective of KYHD is to offer underprivileged children a new perspective through hockey. Our foundation has been officially designated as a Public Benefit Institution (ANBI) from January 1, 2021.

The Kenya Youth Hockey Development program has five spearheads, to which we passionately devote ourselves every day. These are the main lines of the policy plan:

  • The weekly youth hockey program at the City Park Hockey Stadium in Nairobi
  • The establishment and support of similar initiatives throughout Kenya
  • The import and distribution of hockey materials from Dutch clubs: one more stick and ball extra means one more youth player!
  • Hockey scholarships for our top talents
  • Financial and material support for Oranje Leonas, our young girls’ team that now plays in the premier hockey league

In order to achieve our statutory goals, we work with a cost covering budget. Our income consists exclusively of gifts and (other) donations, in cash and/or in kind, from persons and parties known to us. The assets that we generate are managed by the three-member board of the Foundation and are used exclusively to achieve our statutory goals. The Foundation has no employees, and its remuneration policy is strict: no remuneration is given to board members and other volunteers.

Would you like to help us reach our goals?

Our program cannot exist without supporters and sponsors. Our equipment wears out because it is used intensively by our fanatic young field hockey players. In addition to facilitating our talents in playing hockey, we would like to continue to feed and provide them with medical care. We also need funds for participating in tournaments, transport and the import of second-hand hockey equipment.
